Erdkunde bilingual in Klasse 7

 

Im bilingualen Geographieunterricht der Klasse 7 bei Herrn Völler wurde unter der Thematik "Shifting Cultivation" folgende Hausaufgabe erstellt:

Shifting Cultivation is a type of farming in which a patch of forest is cleared of trees and cultivated for a few years until the soil loses its fertility. Then the farmers move to a fresh patch of land.

  1. At first, they choose a good forest area.
  2. Then they cut down the small trees and ring-bark the large ones to kill them.
  3. After that , they collect cut branches into heaps and burned them.
  4. Then they use some saplings to make a fence to keep pigs out.
  5. They either dig holes to put roots or seeds in or they dig the ground with hoes and metal tools.
  6. Then they can harvest vegetables and roots when they are needed.
  7. They harvest the grain when it is ripe.
  8. When the heals fall they must leave the field.
  9. Then they must plant saplings or fruit bushes to restore vegetation.
  10. After that they look for a new area to be cleared.
